Probably not, though you're welcome to try it with this and see for yourself

There's plenty of documentation in the "docs index".

and add "
http://download.rockbox.org/cygwin/
" no resultat... it's not easy for me...
I can manege IPOD whith idj keyboard when it's APPEL
I can't manege IPOD whith idj keyboard when it's Rockbox
Why??? But sound is ok!
But it's beter with rockbox for sound and pitch

I'm sorry, but I don't understand. To install cygwin, you should follow the guide here:
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/CygwinInstallWithScreenShots
then you get the source with SVN:
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/UsingSVN
and for patching:

* soap thinks the VMWare image is infinitely easier than cygWin.

I agree, but he seemed to have already started with cygwin - however the post was hard to follow so that may not be the case.
If not, the VMWare guide is at

There appears to be a great deal of apprehension over using VMWare, perhaps because (when all is said and done) you're working in Linux, and with cygwin you're working "in Windows"?
If so I argue this is a false fear, the learning curve is equal between them, and the VMware setup is infinitely easier IMHO, and unless you have a need/desire for using native Windows tools to work on the source (and you likely know if you do) VMWare is just simpler.

ok… thank you… to install VMWare was simpler for me than install of CygWin.
I still do not know how to join the file .diff saratoga (thank you)... as I begin I am a little awkward. in roxboxVM after "xshells" and" Etern " appears:" user@debien: $" I do what to put the file .diff
but for "frensh keybord" it's ok

Have a look at these pages:
WorkingWithPatches
,
UsingSVN
Edit: Are you asking how to get the patch file that you downloaded into the VM environment? If so: You should be able to
Start --> Run --> \\debian\user
and enter the login info as mentioned
here

It's easiest (for us windows users) to download it in windows then send it to the Linux VM over the shared drive - detail in the article linked by BigBambi
It does feel a bit strange having a share connecting to a machine that is a VM on the machine that you are using...

If half the spelling errors that are present in your previous post are present in the command you entered, I'm not surprised you had an issue.
I'm not saying this to insult you - but rather to stress the pedantic need for exact text and exact error messages.
