rockboxing e250r did all steps still no rockbox
Chronon:
Yes, it seems you switched the two. Download the files one at a time and make sure they end up where they need to go.
mooses9:
i went into recovery mode, and installed the of file and extracted the rockbox and the rockbox white screen and then it tried to load but it said it couldnt find the rockbox mi4 file
what files do i have switched, the 73kb and the 5,613kb?
Chronon:
You only needed to rename and switch the files, not enter recovery mode.
That message means that the Rockbox bootloader can't find /.rockbox/rockbox.mi4.
Edit: If you're getting a message about a missing rockbox.mi4 it means that the Rockbox bootloader has been installed. If you're confused about what state your player is in it's totally acceptable to use recovery mode to restore the original firmware and then follow the "Step 2" instructions carefully.
The 73kb file is the Rockbox bootloader. It needs to be named pp5022.mi4 and be put in the root of the player so that the firmware update installs it in place of the original firmware. The larger file is the original firmware and needs to be named OF.mi4 and placed in the /system/ folder.
mooses9:
well i kinda got somewhere, when i was in recovery mode, i loaded all 3 the OF,pp and rockbox and then rebooted and rockbox loaded, HOWEVER when i plug it into the the usb the screen flashes when then the rockbox backdrop and over and over, whats the deal there?
at least i have rockbox installed? lol
Llorean:
Please, please don't just experiment. Especially with recovery mode. NOTHING should ever tell you to put a Rockbox's main binary on the file in recovery mode.
You now must recover your player properly before you can get things worked out. Previously you didn't need to.
