No Sansa Detected - when auto installing
(1/1)
mfor101:
Hi,
I have an e250 v01.02.18. I'm trying to auto install from Windows XP using the Rockbox Utility. The configuration dialog box autodetects the Sansa as an e200 on drive H:
When I run Complete Installation in the Quick Start tab the progress dialog shows 'Seaching for Sansa' on line 1 and then 'No Sansa detected!' on line 2. This has occurred on 2 separate PCs (both running XP)
I have read the installation section in the manual and the FAQs. A search of this forum shows a couple of related posts but the suggestions there haven't resolved the problem, ie. try another machine or another usb port.
I can manually load the files from the Installation tab with the Install Rockbox option. THe option to install the bootloader however repeats the error message above.
Is this a known issue or am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance for any help.
AlexP:
There are many many posts in the forums about this, with solutions.
There is a bug in Rockbox Utility 1.0.8 and 1.0.9 that prevents Sansa and iPod bootloader installs. For now, either use Rockbox Utility 1.0.7 or sansapatcher to install the bootloader, then 1.0.9 to install everything else.

Ok,
I'll try a manual install with the sansapatcher. I'm sorry I missed the posts but I did read quite a lot of stuff before I posted her.
Thanks anyway - I'll come back if I still have a problem.
Regards
