You haven't installed the main build properly. How did you extract the build? Put the player in USB mode and unzip the build again.

I tried both USB mods available in the device's settings. It's either Auto-detect or MSC.

When I use auto-detect I am able to see the sansa in My Computer, but not as a disk drive with a drive letter. This is how I extracted the .rockbox directory. Sansapatcher or Utility cannot find the player.

When I use MSC I get an error mssage from windows "No disk" somthing. If I hit continue I have nothing on my computer to copy files to, but at least the Sansapatcher detects the player and this is how I intalled the bootloader. Utility fails here too.

It needs to be in MSC mode to install the build, so we have to fix the error.  Perhaps you could give us the full error message?

This is what I get, then 2 disk drives show up in my computer.
Sansa c250 (K:) - with folders such as SYSTEM MUSIC and PHOTO
Removable Disk (L:) - which asks me to insert a disk in drive L:

I copied the .rockbox folder into K:'s root.

anyway I ran the sansapatcher then the utility as I read in another thread here the utility fails at installing the bootloader...

AND IT WORKS!!  its still weird I get that error message but oh well. Thanks for the help!

I also get the same error message.
Sansa e250r

However I do not experience any problems with rockbox. ???
