iPod 30Gb video hangs after connecting to Mac
« on: February 10, 2009, 01:47:06 PM »
I'm running the latest official release of Rockbox on my iPod 30Gb Video. At the moment I connect the iPod to my iMac by USB it hangs (i.e. does not respond anymore to any controls). Even after hard reboot it freezes again, and again. iPod works fine whilst unconnected to my iMac.

And of course, it worked in the past, but suddenly...

Be my hero, as I go on vacation next week, and need to cancel my trip obviously w/o some new tunes.
Thanks!

What exactly happens on screen when you connect it to your Mac? My iPods work just fine connecting to OS X.

Rockbox used to hang on my 30G 5th gen iPod if USB was connected at power on.  Because of this I now first wait for Rockbox to get to the main menu and then connect USB.

You can hold the bottom and centre buttons while restarting or starting the iPod, and it will go into flash based disk mode.  This will work regardless of what you have installed on the HD.  You can get out of that mode by holding the middle and top buttons.
