mind the following when updating under mac os x (tiger/ppc):
stuffit expander doesn't overwrite the old .rockbox-folder as the instructions say, but creates a new folder named ".rockbox.1". this folder is no help at all, rockbox will boot with the old, original version after turning the player on after update.
to update properly, take the following steps:
the .rockbox-folder isn't shown in the finder, since mac os x treats every folder with an initial ".'" in its name as hidden system folder (no option to show them in general). to get to this folder search "rockbox" in the "sansa c200"-drive, ctrl-click e.g. on "rockbox.mi4" and choose "show superior folder" in the context menu. delete the folder.
AFTER deleting the original ".rockbox"-folder unzip the downloaded version of rockbox to the root directory of the player as explained in the manual - then the update will work.
the automatic update with rbutilq seems not to work. i tried to update with rbutilq, which didn't work. then i unzipped the update-file to the root directory twice (without removing the original .rockbox-folder), as result i found only a ".rockbox.1"- and a ".rockbox.2"-folder on my player.
if the automatic update with rbutilq had worked, there should have been either a ".rockbox.3"-folder on my player, or the update should have worked properly (without need to manually unzip anything to anywhere). both didn't happen.
maybe you add this information to the manual, it could be very helpful for all mac-users.
and maybe the rbutilq for mac needs som adaption (erase the old ".rockbox"-folder before installing anything new), since the update function doesn't work as intended.
