cannot remove corrupted song files
« on: February 08, 2009, 10:44:26 PM »
I just installed roxbox. but couldn't make music database.. it stops at 661st song and freeze
I checked my song files on my sansa e 260, there are so many gabaged, corrupted files in some folders. How can I delete this files/ folders?
I tried chkdsk /f,  unlock.exe  etc, but no luck because the files have invalid names and all messed-ups...  folks, help me please!!!

What happened with chkdsk?  What did you type and what error did it give you?

I had this message
"chkdsk can not run because the volume is in use by another process !!"

and then " want chkdsk schedule on next time system restart?"

if I choose "yes"   it's not work at the next booting

When you use the chkdsk command, you need to specify the drive that you want to check.  For example, if your player is mounted as drive E:, you'll need to type the following:

chkdsk e: /f

It looks like you simply typed "chkdsk /f" without specify the drive that you wanted to check, so chkdsk tried to check whatever the default drive was (probably C:).  That is why you got the error message that the volume is in use by another process.

Sure, I did 'chkdsk command in sansa e260's location which is G: drive
anyway, thanks for your reply.
I just format data area ( all songs gone with that gabages) and now rockbox works  any problem.
