problem with ipod video 60gb and restarting

<< < (2/2)

forcifer:
to soap: alright im trying that tight now. thanks :)

to chronon: nope no matter what it will come right back on :(

LurkAzusa:
it gets really annoying since the ipod already has bad battery life, this just makes it worse

Doesn't a poor battery cause intermittent issues?  Maybe a new battery is all it needs.

Chronon:
A low battery shouldn't cause spurious USB detections or button events.

forcifer:
update: even after leaving it on for several hours (like 3) it still stayed on. only if i turn it off by holding play will it restart...i dont know what is going on :( it says shutting down, stays off for a second, then i will feel the hard drive turning back on and it turns on again. i almost thinking of removing rockbox as this is a huge problem

Chronon:
The important thing to note, from soap's test, is whether or not Rockbox spontaneously switched to the main menu instead of the file browser (WPS would have worked too).  If you saw this happen then it heralds unsolicited Menu button presses and would help to explain why you occasionally find yourself in the Apple firmware in the midst of all of this endless rebooting.

Regarding the constant rebooting, it sounds very much like this problem: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=19666.0
