Files don't match database
(1/1)
thewinkler:
I just added Rockbox to my Ipod 60 gb and all of the music is not in the 'files'. The 'database' is complete but only a few of the songs are in the 'files' section. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Chronon:
The music files synced by iTunes are located in (for example) /iPod_Control/Music/F00/. However, the iPod_Control directory is hidden by default. You have to set View Files to "All" in order to see it. Even so, all of your files have been inconveniently named things like ZTRV.mp3, so this makes it an almost useless way to browse the music that iTunes manages for you.
thewinkler:
So should I just continue to play songs from the database? Thanks!
AlexP:
Yes, as the renaming and shoving in random directories that itunes does makes using the file tree next to imposible if you use itunes (or anything that writes to the itunes database) to sync. If however you want to copy your files over in a nice sensible directory structure, then you can use the file tree. Note however that the OF will then no longer recognise your music.
