App Idea: Interval Chime/Poor Man's Nike+iPod?
(1/1)

Hi,
It would be cool if I could build this myself eventually, but I just discovered Rockbox and have a lot to learn; my programming experience is limited to lingo and actionscript...[pausing for laughter]. I just wanted to get some feedback to see if this would be possible:
Interval Chime Enabled / Disabled
Set Interval Time (in seconds)
Set Rest Period (in seconds)
Chime Volume (in dB)
So if Interval Time is set to 30 seconds and Rest Period is set to 45 seconds, chime1.wav would play as soon as Interval Chime is enabled. After 30 seconds Chime2.wav would play. After 45 seconds from that point (so 1:15 total) Chime1.wav would play, etc.
I think the problem would be sound. I'd like to be able to run this while music is playing but so far every app with sound has turned off whatever is playing before launching, so I'm guessing Rockbox only supports one track. I probably just answered my own question, but let me know what you think. Thanks for your help and all your work in developing this firmware.
Multiplex:
There is the keyclick feature which adds an extra tone to the playing music - it has also had some big problems (sorted now I think). That is part of Rockbox and not a Plug-In though.
mborus:
As Rockbox has talking menus that talk while music is playing,
it seems totally possible to have a chime or talking clock
(http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=17645.0)
but interest seems to be low for this.
Personally, I'd find a talking countdown or clock very attractive.
I use Rockbox for running practice several hours a week and plan
to use Rockbox during my first marathon run attempt in April.

Sorry guys, I did a search for Nike but didn't come across the previous post.
