Sansa E200 downloads, playlists and bookmarks

(1/2) > >>

Bob_Taylor:
I cannot seem to get the hang of getting files in the right place where I can listen and bookmark. I have been successful a couple of times, but it is hit and miss.

Here is what I am trying to do. I download book files and unzip them to a directory on the Sansa (Vol. 007 for instance). I see them on the computer and they exist in an Album in the Sandisk operating system, but I cannot find them under "Files" in the Rockbox OS. I want to find them, make a playlist of them, and be able to bookmark as I listen to the files.

Can anyone give me a step by step to show me where I am going wrong?

Thanks

Make sure your USB mode is set to MSC and not MTP.

I don't have a problem unzipping or downloading, just finding the files. I finally got the last one that I downloaded and it seems to have something to do with initializing the database and then restarting, but I'm still not clear on the procedure.

You mean that you cannot see music files from the file browser when you browse to the proper folder?  Are you in MSC mode when you copy them over?

If you can download and unzip the files, then simply use the Files option to navigate to where you placed them on the Sansa.

E.g. if your Sansa appears as drive E:, and the directory is "Vol 7", then choose Files then open "Vol 7" and your files should be there.
Make sure that you are showing Supported/Music/All files and not Playlists too. In fact, it's a very good idea to have a thorough read of the fine manual.
