Sansa e260 v01.02.15E

Hi Guys,

Firstly I have a Sansa e260 v01.02.15E and a 8gb Sandisk Micro SDHC memomry card. I woludl ike to get both to work together in harmony but am struggling. I spoke to Sansa who informed me that the biggest SD you can use on a Sansa e260 is 2Gb, but reading various forums it looks as though I could go up to 16Gb.

Also this site, the homepage doesn't mention a Sansa e260, but looknig at this forum some people appear to be using it, yet I cannot find a topic on v.01.02.15E in particular.

So can someone please give me the idiots guide on how to get this memory card working with my Sansa e260 using Rockbox?

Just install Rockbox.

Rockbox supports SDHC, the Sansa OF doesn't.  As Rockbox uses the Sansa firmware for USB at the moment, a card reader is by far the easiest way to get music onto the card.

The sansa e260 is part of the sansa e200 series, so is supported as long as the Sansa firmware is v01.xx.xx which yours is.

Take a look at the manual for install instructions etc.

I installed as per post 28th December 08 by chekin51 but when i turn on player it is"bricked" i think, rockbox comes up ok and then all these lines down the screen appear and then it freezes?!?!?

It isn't bricked, and we are going to need rather more detail than you have given.  I can't see your player, so you need to describe what happens fully and accurately.

Also, we really prefer you use the official installation instructions.
