Alternate rockbox startup methods?

Are there any ways to start up a 30GB ipod (rockbox 3.1) into the apple stock firmware that don't involve hurrying to flip a switch before rockbox starts?  I seem to remember that you could boot with the Menu button instead of the Select button, but that doesn't work.

You have to hold Menu while booting.  This is also timing dependent and generally less reliable than simply sliding the Hold switch on as soon as you press the button to turn it on. 

I never had problems sliding the Hold switch in time when I used an iPod.  Is there something that prevents you from pressing the button with one hand and sliding the switch with the other?

The case I've got is really great, except that it makes the hold button impossible to hit because it's kinda thick.

I see. The "Menu" method may be right up your alley then.
