F40 boot image...... again!!

sup people! ok so as the title refers., this is a thread regarding the boot image on the gigabeat F series. i have searched the forums and found a few threads that have answered some questions yet they also left me confused.

ok, so the gigabeat splash screen (white with green graphics) is part of the gigabeat boot loader (right?). since im using rockbox cant i just disable this? also i read other things about the gigabeat getting bricked if i try to do this.

the threads were kinda old so im hoping that there is an easier or a better detailed walk through on how to disable that boot sequence. thnx for any and all help.

The patch referred to in that topic has been abandoned and should probably be closed.  If you're prepared to patch and build your own Rockbox then you may be interested in the Gigabeat flashwriter plugin on the tracker.
