Can't delete characters when naming files..

(1/1)

emdeec:
Player: Sansa c250 v1
Rockbox ver: r19569-081223 (3.1)

When using the virtual keyboard to type/delete file names the manual says:

"Rec + Select   -   deletes the character before the line cursor"

.. but in my case that button combo does nothing. All the other various button combos do what they're supposed to.. and the Select button DOES work in every other case where/how it's supposed to so I know it's working. Looking at the character map up top of the display (Where the solid cursor picks a character to insert) I cannot see any backspace/delete character symbol either (like on some video game consoles.. chosen with a gamepad to backspace).

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm creating playlists and the only two default names I get are "root.m3u8" and "dynamic.m3u8". I want to make one for my µSDHC card and one for the internal memory and label them as such.

Thanks for your time & attention.

BTW.. with the button combo presses.. I've tried all various "orders" (i.e. rec then select, select then rec and both at the same time).

On all of the players that I use you can scroll down to highlight the text line and pressing Select will delete the character before the cursor.  This may work as a workaround (I'm not sure).

In any case if the manual says this should work and it doesn't it sounds like a bug.  Maybe someone else with a c2x0 can advise about whether it's a problem with the manual or functionality of the build.
