Not sure if this is the right forum for this. The installation/removal forum tells me to go else where once I've installed.
I installed Rockbox fine on my refurbed Sansa e260 v1 last night. I transfered files and played them fine. The thing was running out of charge so I figured I should charge it over night.
Now, the motherboard on my PC runs a charge through to connected USB devices even if the PC isn't on. I often use a USB to A/C cord to charge my PSP overnight while the PC is off.
So I plug my e260 cord into the off PC. The Sansa firmware loads, but never leaves the Sansa logo page. I figure this is just charge mode and leave it for the night. I come back the next morning and I unplug the cable. I press buttons and the scroll wheel lights up. The LCD backlight will light up and the sansa logo screen will show up but the player doesn't do anything. I try turning on the PC and plugging it in. The player doesn't even register in the OS. There is a full charge, though.
I unplug and hold the power button for 30 seconds or so. The player turns of. I turn it back on and the Rockbox software loads up just fine. Whenever I plug the player in, the original firmware loads and remains stuck on the logo screen like I describe above. I must reset the player with the power button in order to remedy this.
I've tried loading the original firmware without plugging the player in and it goes into the same logo screen. I've tried forcing the player to load MSC mode as described here:

but I get the message
Key LOCKED
System Shutdown
on a black screen after teh logo screen shows up.
I'm using RockBox 3.1. The player itself is a V1 e260. Interestingly, it has the Rhapsody back plate, but the firmware is for an e260. I know this cause in the settings the USB modes are MSC and MTP, not Plays For Sure and Rhapsody.
