The big family of Rockchip players
« on: January 18, 2009, 08:32:42 AM »
There is is a group of Chinese MP4 players.
There are many different manufactures, but
most of players from this family are
based on powerful Rockchip processor.

So, in that case it doesn't matter who is the developer,
because there is a huge number of small manufactures, and most of them even
don't have their own website,
but all the players have nearly the same architecture:
firmware and hardware.

If you would like to get more information about
please visit www.mympxplayer.org -
the most popular website about chinese players.

So, please, tell me:
Is your great project Rockbox supporting
Rockchip-based players now?
Or will you support it in the future?  ???

Notice that a lot of people have Chinese players
because they are cheap,
and most from Chinese players are Rockchips.

Last time I looked at Rockchip, there wasn't any datasheet nor documentation available.

I know they use ARM as a main core and a seperate DSP for audio/video processing in most Rochchips, but that's it.

And no one will do ports on request, please read the stickies and the NewPort wiki page..

(oh and please don't use blue fonts and 16px font sizes anymore)

edit:
there's already a thread for this: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=10428.15
