iPod video 30GB battery charge dissapearing?
(1/1)
prikolchik:
I have iPod Video 30GB (Rockbox version r19569-081223) and I'm using to play flac and wavpack files.
And the problem is that it seems to consume about 3-5% of battery per hour (or 12% overnight) when it is completely off (I hold Play button until iPod turns off). It doesn't have any alarm set and it is not plugged into anything.
I thought this was due to the old battery, but and after installing new one the problem prevails. Is this how it is suppose to be, or is there something wrong? Anything I can do?
Thanks

Are you sure that you are seeing a real reduction in runtime? After powering on, the initial reading might be a bit low because the hard drive is active. If this is the issue, the level will rise.
Higher bitrates (such as when playing FLAC or lossless wavpack instead of MP3) cause more hard drive activity, which can shorten battery life. However, what you play shouldn't affect what happens when the device is off. If you're really getting that much of a decrease in runtime while off, that's either a hardware fault or bug.
