RB hangs immediately after Battery voltage message
Mus:
Hi,
I installed a new 120GB ZIF drive in my H140. I can access the drive via USB no problem, Swissnifed it and installed Rockbox.
Now the player hangs after the first few message. The iRiver firmware boots up but doesn't see any files.
Any clues what this means?
Thanks
M

What messages are displayed? Are any of them referring to .rockbox not found?
May it be that your 120GB was not formatted with FAT32?
AlexP:
Also, it needs to be a primary partition.

Thanks guys,
I think the non-FAT32 formatting might be the problem if these drives are generally supplied as NTFS.
I'll try it later.
AlexP:
Windows will refuse to format a drive bigger than 40 GB as FAT32, and insist on NTFS because of a brain dead decision by MS to try and force people to use NTFS. Therefore if you used windows to format it, it will be NTFS. You need to use a third party utility, such as Swissknife or fat32format.
