iPod 3G: no alarm while charging?

Hi,

i have a 3G iPod with a weak battery so i have to charge (not connected to a PC or MAC) it during the night. And i want to use the alarm so that the player wakes me up in the morning.

BUT when i am charging the iPod i cant turn it off therefore the alarm cant start...   :(

I read someting about pressing the menu button while plugging the cable in but this doesn't work.

You can't turn off the hardware while it's charging.  I think there's an alarm plugin patch in the tracker that leaves the player on the whole time, if you're interested.

ok ill try to patch it. but not today i think i need a lot of time to do this.

But maybe somebody could include a working alarm in the latest (or next) rockbox version ;)

Maybe you could get a new battery so that you don't have to leave it turned on and connected to the charger all night.   ;)
