[Solved]iPod 5.5g sometimes says low battery even though it's fully charged

Hi.

I'm using 5.5G 80GB.

OF works fine as it will just sleep and wake up.
Shutting down in RB and turning on, iPod sometimes (30~40% i guess) shows burst of very low battery and hangs with blank screen.
After hard reset it just boots fine and behave normally.
Battery lasts and charges as expected.

Is this normal?

Yes, that's a known problem.  It may be a bug in the Apple firmware in flash.

soap:
You don't see this often with the Apple firmware because the Apple firmware rarely does a full power-off.  It hibernates most the time, so since it isn't doing a cold boot often it isn't in a position to trigger this bug often.
