MSI Mega?

(1/1)

Zerias:
I would hope this is the right place for this. I've been tempted by the slowly lowering price of the MSI 4gig MP3 player to pick one up : http://3btech.net/msime5364gbu.html

However, given that the default firmware only plays MP3 and WMA, with no support for .ogg, flac, or anything else, I'm a little hesitant to shell out the cash. I did a quick search in the forums for the terms of MSI Mega to see if anybody already had an un-official port or brought the player up... but didn't find anything.

Using the term : MSI MEGA Rockbox on Google turned this particular page : http://mower.coex.cz/msi.htm

The indication is that I'm not the only one that would like to see Rockbox ported to the MSI Mega, but what can I actually do to help make that port happen?

Take a look at the sticky.

(V)3@7Y:
Based on the price range that this falls into, you will be much better off buying something like a sansa c200, which already has full support.

A: Already read the sticky. Pretty sure original post falls right in line with the guidelines of the sticky.

B: already have one of the Sansa C200's, the C250. However, there are some problems with it, such as the headphone jack being easily broken, and being unable to get USB to be recognized half the time after loading Rockbox.

Llorean:
The sticky includes a link to a page describing what you can do to make it happen. So, since you asked what you can do to make this happen, I'm sure it seemed reasonable for anyone reading the post to think you hadn't read it.
