H320 buttons do not function properly
« on: January 21, 2009, 07:35:13 PM »
I would like to install rockbox however my H320 buttons are sort of out of wack.  Every button functions as a play/pause button.  I stumbled across rockbox in my attempts to fix the player.  I went to do the install but it says I need to do the firmware upgrade on the player to install rockbox.  Is there a work around for this so everything I do is on the computer?  Since the buttons are not functioning correctly I cannot navigate to the firmware upgrade screen.  Any ideas?

You may have to open up your H320 and fix the buttons. It sounds like you may either have a short or something caught under the buttons.

There are some good repair guides both on Google and on Misticriver.

OK well before I go taking this thing apart I suspect that the problem would be a short of some type.  The player did get wet a while back.  I figured the thing was dead and it has been sitting in a drawer for over a year.  I decided randomly to give it a try and it powered up and charges, it's just the button problem.  Does this sound like a repairable problem by opening it up?
