Sansa E260 Firmware

I was wondering if there was any way to load just rockbox on my e260. when i was doing a firmware update on it the player hung up in the middle of it. now i have a bricked player with the load main image failed please restart in recovery mode screen. the problem is that i have a corrupt version file i attempted recovering it with linux ubuntu but it was quite confusing and it kept giving me errors. so if anyone knows if you can or how to load only rockbox onto a bricked e260 please let me know.

You need a working Sandisk firmware because rockbox uses the retail firmware for USB access.
