iPod Nano First Gen "Stuck"
« on: January 15, 2009, 01:54:01 PM »
My iPod Nano First Gen is a little screwed. The Click Wheel stopped working so I tried putting Rockbox on it to see if that would fix anything. However, I didn't do it right and it got stuck with the error screen that tells me to press MENU+SELECT and then SELECT+PLAY, but I can't because the click wheel won't work. Is there any thing I can do to fix this?

Have you checked the hold switch to make sure it's not on or stuck?

It's not the hold switch, if I put it on hold it will say "Hold Switch On!" but otherwise it isn't there.

Then how about when you hold the buttons for a few seconds?

I'm really not paying attention today.  :P Ignore what I said.

Since the click wheel's broken you can't use the player anyway. Fix/replace the click wheel and you'll be able to uninstall Rockbox or finish installing it properly.

And I know just the people to help with that:

I did order a new click wheel and have already tried using that, it still refuses to work.

Maybe something on the logic board is broken?
