where to buy sansa e200 v1? (USA)
malefactor:
Can anyone suggest a place to buy a v1 sansa e200 series (memory capacity not important) in the US?
buy.com has some, but comments are conflicting as to whether or not it's a v1 being sent. Sorta suggests you get a random version.
Thanks.
(alternatively, is there a better modern platform for rockbox that is readily available? I was under the impression that this is one of the nicer ones).
AlexP:
froobi.com (search for rockbox)
I prefer quite a few other targets over the e200, but it depends what you want. See www.rockbox.org/wiki/BuyersGuide
malefactor:
I'd be interested to hear why. To me, the e200 appeals because of the video support, fm radio (maybe), recording (occasionally handy), but in particular because of the removable sdhc.. absence of moving parts + near-unlimited upgrade capability. (also swapping cards is possible).
Unless I'm missing something, the e200 is the only one with removable storage. Can you suggest why you like others better?
Chronon:
Yes, you gave some compelling reasons to choose the e200. The main drawback I can think of is discussed in this topic: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=11326.0
AlexP:
Nasty noises on flash access (whether you can hear it depends on headphones), too small storage and I don't want to carry lots of cards around with me, recording is poor quality compared to e.g. H100, video is available on pretty much all Rockbox targets, fm is also available on others, I don't like wheels, ....
I have an e200 and it is OK, but I don't use it, I prefer others. I'm not saying the e200 is bad, it just isn't the best. However if you just want a relatively small flash based player, then by all means.
