how do you fix broken or out-of-date theme

<< < (3/4) > >>

keepsake:
I'm sorry, I don't think I was very clear there.
If the zip file only has the "wps", "backdrops", "themes", and "fonts" folders, you should simply drag these _into_ the .rockbox folder on your MP3 player. Otherwise, if the zip file has a ".rockbox" folder, you should drag it into your MP3 player's hard disk (not into the .rockbox folder). The idea is to force the computer to merge the set of files.

What exactly do you find in the .zip file when you open it?

--- Quote ---so  their should be a .rockbox folder in my .rockbox folder (that located in my MP3 drive)

No.

Chronon:
The files should not just be loose in the archive like that.  They should be in a hierarchy of directories that match the structure that's already on your player.

The structure should be something like this:

/.rockbox/
   fonts/
helvR10.fnt  (this is a deprecated font name, by the way)
   icons/
        tango_small.bmp
        tango_small_viewers.bmp
   themes/
        blacknblue_glass.cfg
   wps/
        blacknblue/
             play.bmp
             pause.bmp
                . . .
        blacknblue.wps
