Error while loading rockbox

I am on mac and am trying to install rockbox. I have my ipod set to windows format. its the 30gb video. I used the easy installation method to do everything, using the rbutilqt.dmg to install. I clicked the full installation, as recommended, and when i restarted my ipod. It tells me to hold select+menu then select+play to get to disk mode. Ive tried installing it again but same thing :/

What am i doing wrong?

Edit: Ive even used the ipodpatcher to install the bootloader. ive tried everything i can think of now.

You have only installed the bootloader. You still need to install a Rockbox build.

Then your Rockbox build is not being unzipped to the correct location on the ipod.  The build should be extracted to the root directory, so that after the installation of the build, you have the following folder on your iPod:

\.rockbox

Note the leading period in the folder name.

How do i unzip the build into the right area? Is there anything special i have to do (manual installation)? Or can it be fixed easily.

I think people on the mac have reported trouble using the OSX gui unzip tool, so you may need to either download a different tool or use the command line unzip program.

There is no point in not using Rockbox Utility, if you manage to read the wiki page:

(os x) Complete / Small Install is not working correctly for Sansa / Apple players: bootloader installation unmounts the player (required), but the build gets installed before the system can remount the player. You need to use the separate installs from the "Installation" tab for now.

Okay, ive tried all these things. Ive seperately installed each thing, ive unistalled it multiple times, and installed it more times. How do i this manually? I tried before and it didnt work. Couldnt figure the terminal step.

Can you describe for us the exact steps you're taking to use Rockbox Utility to install the build?  Maybe then we can figure out where you're going wrong.

Okay this is what im doing:
1) Formatted iPod to Windows format
2)Clicked Installation tab
3) Install Bootloader
4) Install Rockbox

Thats basically it. I dont know what i could be doing wrong.

What version of Rockbox Utility are you using?

4) Install Rockbox

-When the dialog box prompts you to select Rockbox stable, Archived Build, or Current Build, what are you selecting?
-What happens next?
-Are there any error messages?
-Does Rockbox Utility indicate that it is downloading and extracting the build?
-After Rockbox Utility finishes extracting the build, is there a .rockbox directory in the root of your iPod?  (Note that you may need to enable viewing of hidden files to determine this.)

How did you do that? Did you also convert the partition scheme to a MBR one? Just reformatting the data partition is not enough.

How do i convert to a MBR scheme?

Ive tried all the builds, same problem. After that, it says download complete. No error message till i restart my ipod. It indicates the download and extract. Not sure about directory, redoing again now.

Ive done that, i used the easy way to convert to FRAT32 since im no good with terminal. Now i keep getting an error message saying "cant open ipod"
