weird problem with song length

(1/2) > >>

l.simms:
Just loaded Rockbox onto Toshiba F60.  The documentation was great; no problems...but when I loaded songs, they all show up as 5 or 6 times longer than actual.  A 3:30 minute song shows up as 20:06.

If I let it play through, it switches to the next song after 3:30, but if I FF, it goes the full 20 minutes, repeating sections.  I couldn't find anything posted on this.  Any ideas?

Separately--I'm blown away by Rockbox, which I discovered today by accident.  I was about to toss my Toshiba, which I've long considered a great piece of hardware hobbled by insufferably bad software.  This is a great piece of work, & I'll contribute in some way.  Thanks.

Strange.  What revision/version are you running?  You might try reinstalling.  I suspect something got corrupted on the way to your player as I don't have any such problems with my Gigabeat.

What type of files is it occurring on (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, etc.)?  Do the files behave correctly with a PC application?  Try a filesystem check on the Gigabeat.

R19569-081223   Just downloaded yesterday.

Mostly .mp3, some .wma--they behave the same.  All work fine on pc.

Filesystem check showed no errors.  Will try a reinstall.

Thanks.

Try opening one of the problematic MP3s with the VBRfix plug-in and see if that fixes the problem.
