Need help! I forgot this aparently.

Ok so I installed (successfully) Rockbox to my Sansa e280 a few months ago. At that time I updated all my files but since it has collected dust.

My problem is that I go into the device directory on my pc and it shows just a few folders of music. On my device is shows tons of things. I drag to add and delete from windows explorer and no changes are made on the device. What am I doing wrong. I need more than half the sfuff off mf device and have 10-20 cds to put on there.

Where are you putting the files that you load in Windows Explorer?  The \MUSIC directory is automatically marked as hidden by the Sansa firmware, so Rockbox won't see it unless you change the "show files" setting to "all."  Try putting your files in a different directory.  I use a directory called \My Music.

Also , make sure that you have the player set to MSC mode in the original firmware.

I checked and it was in the proper mode. It updated database when I did the check and corrected everything.

Now how do I stop Win Media player from trying to sync everytime.

You can search for options or settings, or read the manual for WMP.  While you have it open, hit "F1".

ALSO,
For whatever reason the files you load onto the Sansa using MTP mode are NOT visible when you plug the Sansa into the computer using MSC mode, and vice versa.
--Try switching modes (under settings -> USB) on the Sansa, then plug it into the computer.
