Sansa e280 v1/ No partition found/ problems
« on: January 09, 2009, 02:43:26 PM »
I was able to successfully upload rockboxer onto my sansa last night and it seemed to be working fine. I left it on the charger to charge the battery and when I woke up this morning to put music on it I just get the boot up image and then a screen that says:

Rockbox boot laoder
Version:5.0
Sandisk Sansa e200
No partition found

It stays that way for a few seconds and then turns off. I can't even get it to stay on whether it's on the charger or off nor will it stay on when put on the USB to the computer. If anyone has had success with fixing something like this or knows (or has any ideas at all) how to fix it I would truly appreciate the help.

Were you in the SanDisk firmware while charging?  Does the recovery mode work?

Yes, I was in the Sandisk mode while charging. I'm not sure if the recovery mode works, how would I be able to tell whether it is?

There's a recovery procedure that you can find from the SansaFAQ page.

Ok, thanks. I'll give it a shot and let you know if it works.

UPDATE***
I was able to boot it in recovery mode and follow the instructions to fix it. Thanks again.  ;D

Any chance that you could explain which procedure you used?

I am having the exact same issue with my e260.
A few strange things to note are that:
my VERSION.TXT file in Recovery Mode contains headers but no data
I downloaded the MI4 file from http://daniel.haxx.se/sansa/mi4.html and verified the MD5 and after disconnecting the Sansa, the restore hangs on Writing Main Image.

Any ideas?

OK.

I tried format by creating special file.  - I think successful. But not fix my problem. Then i download sansa firmware updater (e200fw01.00.12.exe) - says i got wrong version (??) and next i put original firmware from unbrick FAQ in recovery mode and when it starts writing image happen nothing.

How I took down my player? I sting my girlfriend`s sister for few days...

So, you haven't tried the Manufacturing Mode procedure?

I find this is the best place for sansa V1 firmware http://files.zefie.com/PMP/sansa/

If you download one you will find more than one file included in the 7zip.

At least two are needed in recovery mode on my sansa c240, namely prbootloader.rom & firmware.mi4.

Afterwards you may then need to use the sansa updater to get the latest firmware for your player, providing this is compatible with Rockbox.
