It's in Disk Mode.  You should be able to attach it to USB and follow the uninstall directions if you wish.

1) Do a hard reset: Slide the Hold switch on then off.  Then hold Menu + Select until the screen blanks.
2) Immediately do one of the following:
  a) Hold Select + Play to start Apple's in-flash Disk Mode.
  b) Slide the Hold switch on until Apple's firmware starts.
3) Connect the player via USB and follow the uninstall directions.

Let us know if you still have a problem.

(note: If you follow 1 -> 2a -> 3 you bypass any Rockbox related code.  This should always work, regardless of errors in installation.)

It sounds like you installed the Rockbox bootloader and not the firmware itself.  If it can't find rockbox.ipod the bootloader will tell you to enter Disk Mode to fix it.  Evidently, you didn't do either 2a or 2b correctly.

EDIT: There are uninstall directions in the manual.  Now that you are in Apple's firmware you can plug it into USB and follow the directions in the manual.

The link to the manuals is on the left of your screen.  Section 2.6 is titled: "Uninstalling Rockbox".

The automatic method (mentioned in the manual) is just to use Rockbox Utility to do the uninstall.

EDIT: Please don't change the content of your posts after I have replied.  It makes the discussion difficult to follow for others.  Restoring will repartition and reformat your iPod and reinstall the Apple firmware.  While this will certainly remove all traces of Rockbox it's a little more extreme than necessary.  Why not just use Rockbox Utility to uninstall?
