E260 hidden files

Why did it make most not all of the original files hidden. I even went in and unhidden the files but when I restarted they became hidden again. not a big deal I can work around just weird... ???

The SanDisk firmware hides directories such as /MUSIC, /VIDEOS, etc.  Their firmware never lets you look at the file tree anyway, so it's not apparent.  In Rockbox you can store your media in different folders that won't get hidden every time you hook up the player via USB (or boot the SanDisk firmware for some other reason), or you can set View Files to "All".

Okay, Thanks.. I don't remember the files being hidden before I installed Rockbox. Because that is where you are supposed to put them when using the original firmware.

The SanDisk firmware never lets you directly browse the file tree.  Since you only interact with the files through its database it's not apparent to you that the folders that the files actually live in are hidden.
