Ipod video 30G wont turn off :(

I hold the play button in and the Ipod still wont turn off >:(. Could it be hardware or software? Help. It's eating my battery

Check the "hold" switch.

No I don't have that turned on lol. Everything is set up that it should turn off but it just doesn't. :S No other ideas?

Just to be sure, have you tried the hard reset? Select + Menu for up to 30 seconds

Yea I've done that afew times but I can't just seem to turn it off. It's always on sucking up all my battery.
