As the thread title states, I was curious if there will ever be a Zune Rockbox firmware developed. I know I'd love to have Rockbox on my Zune 80GB.

I know developing something like this would take hundreds of hours, but I'm kindly asking anyway.

It's impossible to predict. As with all other ports, it depends on interested people who already own the player deciding to do the necessary work, and even then there's some luck involved in whether or not a way is found to get past the encryption.

In the future, please search our forums first. This is hardly the first time the Zune has been asked about.
