Deletion of duplication tracks (Was: Sorry if repeat)

Is there a patch that can delete duplicate tracks or am I just kidding myself.  I did a search but it really didn't yeild any result that were helpful

It's unclear what you're looking for.  You would like to run a script that deletes duplicate files?  What would you like it to base that on?  (same file name, same ID3 tag info...) 

This sounds like something that would be better taken care of by a human being or PC software.

Sorry I just noticed that I have to be careful making playlist and putting music on my sansa because I get duplicate songs, just curious if there was a patch for that

When you say duplicate songs are you referring to files or database entries?

I am thinking files,  Because if I sync my music it put duplicate songs in so I have like 3 of the same song

If you sync your player to a local (PC side) music library that has multiple copies of a file then it stands to reason that these would end up on your player.  I don't think it should be a task for Rockbox to clean up after your syncing software.  I.e. that sounds like something that should be handled via whatever process you use to transfer music in the first place, not after the fact by Rockbox -- just as MarcGuay suggested.

If i use media monkey can I look through my library with it and delete duplicte tracks??

We don't provide support for Media Monkey here, but if Media Monkey has the ability to detect and delete duplicate songs, you can probably point Media Monkey to the music library on your player and use that function.  A Google search for "find duplicate files freeware" also yields many hits for software that can do this.
