80gig iPod dramas

I'm prolly not the first, and I prolly wont be last to say:

RockBok is not working on my 80gig iPod Classic!

I've done everything correctly, believe me I've checked many a time. But when I run the bootloader (aka ipodpatcher) it scans the computer and says no iPod connected. But I know its connected because it says 'connected' on the iPod screen.

Yes I got downloaded the right version. Yes I extracted '.rockbox' and put it in the root folder of my iPod. Yes I downloaded the correct bootloader.

WHAT UP?! WHATS HAPPENIN?!

Can somebody please help....

So, I think it's normal you can't get Rockbox working on your iPod Classic.

And not only is it listed on the front page, a search of the forums would've revealed many, many instances of people finding out the hard way that Rockbox doesn't work on the Classic.
