Installing Rockbox on c250
Gutboy:
I've had this same problem during the installation attempt on my Windows XP (service pack 3) system.
I have a Sansa c250 with the latest (Sansa) firmware.
Using the Rockbox utility, the autoinstall will install Rockbox but not the bootloader ("Detecting Sansa--No Sansa").
So how does one go about temporarily disabling the USBDLM (I don't see it active via the Task Manager, fwiw)? I've tried the manual install but that won't work either.

If "the latest Sansa firmware" means a firmware starting with 03.XX.XX, then that means you have a v2 Sansa, which currently can not run Rockbox.
If you have a firmware starting with 01.XX.XX, then are you running Rockbox Utility and/or Sansapatcher with admin rights?
Gutboy:
"The latest Sansa firmware" means the latest update for a version 1 player, namely 01.01.07P. I've updated the firmware a number of times since purchasing the player.
It is absolutely not a version 2 player.
Edit to add:
And yes, I am attempting the installation with administrative privileges.

It seems to be really hard to read. Quoting the Rockbox Utility wiki page:
--- Quote ---o (w32) "No Sansa found" error when trying to install the bootloader for e200 / c200 (FS#9729).
--- End quote ---
As this in the "upcoming release" section ... well, it still must be present in the current release, right? Use sansapatcher instead or (as explained in a different thread already) Rockbox Utility 1.0.7, which doesn't contain the issue. Btw, the forums have a search function.
