Transferring Music to WHICH folder - e260

So I got a Sansa SanDisk for Christmas and after dragging and dropping in the original firmware (and added like only 40 more songs), my dad told me I should use Rockbox.  I read about it and decided that its benefits made it worthwhile.

I installed it via the manual and checkd the manual for how to upload songs.  It said that it was a simple drag and drop. I have been working on trying to figure out WHERE to drag and drop for two hours and can't get the player to recognize the new songs.  The MUSIC folder is hidden and I just can't figure out which folder to put songs into.

I'm just incredibly desperate right now and frustrated.  Any help would be great!

You can put songs in any folder you like.  All folders are equivalent in rockbox, except for hidden folders which aren't shown unless you've enabled showing hidden files.

I mean, I've tried to upload the songs in a variety of folders and am having no luck.  Where do you upload your music to in Rockbox? Is there any way I can get the folders unhidden? Would you happen to have any suggestions for how I can figure this out?

My apologies.  I usually do not post on these kinds of websites.

Before RockBox, when I wanted to transfer music, I just dragged and dropped two file folders - i think it was like "workoutsongs" and "partycds" that each had you know, maybe 40 songs in them.  That worked.

After installing RockBox, I tried the same thing.  First, I just tried to drag and drop the files, not in a folder in the MUSIC folder.  Then I thought that they might already have to be in a folder so I made a folder to put them all in (sansadec30) and tried that. After doing that a few times, I realized that the folder was hidden and tried two other folders. In .rockbox, I tried to move the files 'sansadec30' to just within there and also in the ".wps" file.  I also tried to move the folder into .tps.

The .rockbox directory is hidden.  Are you looking for your music through the Files or Database method?  What do you have the Show Files setting set to? 

If you put a supported sound file in the root of the player (i.e. next to the MUSIC and PLAYLIST and .rockbox folders), you should be able to see it on the first click of the Files entry on the main menu.

Have you got the Sansa USB in MSC mode?  And what is the "Show Files" setting in Rockbox?
