Album Art on e280 (Rockboxed)
« on: December 30, 2008, 01:06:17 AM »
Got rockbox running smoothly on my sansa e280..  :D
Have a theme capable of displaying album art...
Put a BMP file into the folder with the name folder.bmp.. (the size of the BMP is quite high though, I didn't mind as anyway Rockbox would resize it for me!)

The AA wouldn't even display ...
I saw the AA wiki - It says I need to use %C1 & %C WPS tags .. But how do I use tags ?  ??? ???

The wiki also says it needs to be called cover.bmp.

Tags are used in the .wps file.  The default theme will display album art if it finds it.

I know .. I'm not using it as cover.bmp
I'm using it in this way :
If folder name is Ab1C2 -> my BMP inside the folder is also with the name Ab1C2.BMP ..

This is supported right? Still doesn't seem to work!
I'll try using the cover.bmp (I'll resize to lesser than 100*100 as well) & post back!

I think the problem is more likely related the naming of the file or the theme you are using.

It says I need to use %C1 & %C WPS tags [...]

That first tag should be %Cl, not %C1. The WPS parser would probably choke on the WPS file syntax and default to the old built-in theme.

Also, from the Wiki page:

The order of priority is the following:

   1. ./ filename .bmp - same filename as currently playing music file
   2. ./ albumtitle .bmp - name of the album, found in metadata of the music file
   3. ./cover.bmp
   4. /.rockbox/albumart/ artist-albumtitle .bmp
   5. ../ albumtitle .bmp
   6. ../cover.bmp

There's nothing in there about using the folder name as a valid album art file name. You can, however, use the album title as found in the metadata tags for the songs, or, since it's stored in the same folder, just name it cover.bmp.

Oh.. Thanks for the heads-up  ;D
I don't know if it's oversight or something else- but I somehow assumed <foldername>.bmp would work.. Ok - I'll check out the stuff now!
