iRiver H10 (6GB): Strange behaviour with FM Radio
Ton:
At first I assume that FM Radio is now fully supported in Rockbox for the iRiver H10 5/6GB, because it is mentioned in the latest manual. (I think I remember having seen that a year ago it was NOT).
Yesterday I installed build 3.1 on my wife's H10 6GB and everything works perfect, except for the FM Radio however. When I go straight to FM Radio in the Main Menu, I only hear a lot of noise and it doesn't tune in, even when I choose a preset. It also says "mono", although it is on a frequency of a stereo station. However when I play a music file and while doing that, go to FM Radio and tune to a station everything is o.k. Then the chosen station plays correctly and also in stereo.
Is this still an issue with the H10 or a bug in the current 3.1 build ? Or am I doing something wrong ?
karashata:
I have no idea how that could happen that way, I've never had issues with my H10's FM radio since back when support was first added. It sounds like something might be wrong with your H10, assuming that you're definitely within signal range of the stations you're tuning to.

Yes, I am. When I go to FM Radio while playing a music file, it plays fine.
karashata:
I don't know if any of this matters, but... What version of the bootloader are you using, and what Rockbox revision are you running..?
Ton:
I have build 3.1
But meanwhile I noticed that going to Radio while playing files doesn't work either anymore. Same when using the original iRiver firmware.
So I think it is a mechanical thing. Maybe the connection for the antenna on the headphone jacket ? So probably have to open the H10.
