ipod patcher cant find ipod

i have unzipped the fonts and .rockbox and it is on my ipod when i run the ipod patcher it say "scanning disk  devices..."
no ipods found, aborting
please connenct your ipod and make sure it is in disk mode

i check all of these and nothing seems to work help

windows xp. does the ipodpacther have to be anywhere in particular? mines in my documents

Okay, I can't seem to find any reason ipodpatcher shouldn't be working in Windows (I don't own an iPod so I've never had to use it, and searching the forums hasn't helped), and I have a couple questions...

1. Have you tried installing Rockbox with RockboxUtility?

2. Is there a chance your iPod might be a Classic and not a Video..?

Ah, that would definitely explain it, as the Classic isn't currently supported, and progress on a port hasn't really been made (more info here.)
