Pictureflow feature
« on: December 25, 2008, 12:29:13 PM »
ok this has been really bothering me. i finally got all my album art for my cds on my mp3 player but pictureflow still shows about a zillion ? albums. there probably from my downloaded folder which i wont get albumart for because i have over 5000 songs in that folder.  maybe we can have a feature in pictureflow to ignore  certin folders? this will probably work if i used the ignore folder feature in the database?(this is only for the random folder advance plugin correct?)  but i actually use the downloaded folder in the database. and proably nobody understands me :(

PictureFlow uses the database to get the names of the albums from. When you update/initialize your database, you can have Rockbox ignore certain folders by adding an empty text file in such directory. The filename should be "database.ignore" (without the quotes (") of course).

As bzavala said, picture flow uses the database, so if items appear in the database then they will appear in picture flow.

I'm not sure if this will help you, but if you change the tagging of all of the files so as to make them them all from the "same album". i.e change them all to "Album: Random Music" or whatever you want. This i think will put them all under one heading in picture flow, but im not sure if it will disrupt what you were originally doing in the database . Good luck

So If i changed all the songs in my downloaded folder to "Downloaded" it would show the album art for "Downloaded" ? usually all i look for is artists maybe but usually just use the database to search for a song i cant find on the folders.
