Hey guys i need some help with an ipod nano 1st gen
« on: December 24, 2008, 01:08:58 PM »
i installed the old rockbox over a year ago and i just got on today and downloaded the update, after downloading it when i try to play songs through the database on rockbox it ask
"erase dynamic playlist?
Select = yes
Any Other = No"

I am not sure if you can help me but if you cant can you atleast tell me how to remove the bootloader manually because i have tried you uninstalling atleast 30 times and i uninstalled the components but it wont let me remove the bootloader because it cannot connect to the ipod. Also on a side note, when i connect the ipod to my computer it has to be in the original apple software to stay connected. if i plug it in with rockbox a second later it gives me the ok to disconnect, which is really annoying.

Rockbox does not yet have its own USB handling, so it uses the orignal firmware's disk mode. But you post is confusing. On one hand you say you can't connect, and then you saying that you can connect using the Apple firmware. Why don't you explain exactly what steps you are taking to try to remove the bootloader?

I'm also unclear what you're trying to achieve here.

Has the message about the dynamic playlist irritated you so much you wish to get rid of Rockbox completely, or are you thinking it has something to do with the Rockbox bootloader and that removing that will somehow get rid of the message.

Note you can stop that message appearing - see the "Warn on Erasure of Dynamic Playlist" (or something similar) in the manual.

Are you referring to Apple firmware, or the Rockbox firmware?
