The current implementation of th "Insert in playlist" feature

I should have brought this up a long time ago as I fear it's been longer than the oldest still-available build since this changed. But in Rockbox you have the Insert In.. playlist feature, with two options the standard one and Insert shuffled.

It used to be that these options did what you wished regardless of the system-wide shuffle option, but now if shuffle is enabled then both options have the same functionality. This is annoying as I used to use this to circumvent the shuffle option for playing albums in the middle of a shuffle playlist, and why not? If I wanted more inserted shuffled then I still had that option.

Can anyone explain this change and if possible point me to the revision where it happened?

are you sure? I use insert shuffled (with shuffle off) also and havnt noticed a problem

He's saying if you "Insert" while "Shuffle" is set to yes, so the opposite of your situation.

But I can't reproduce his problem. If I enable shuffle, then "Insert" a folder, I get a sequential series of inserted songs in the middle of my shuffled playlist.
