Sansa e280 FM presets auto scanned will not save

(1/2) > >>

pcgolfer:
I'm new to the forum, but I have really gotten into Rockbox.    It took a little bit of time, but everything is working well with one exception.   When I go into the FM radio, it prompts me if I wanted to autoscan stations.  I select it, and it does identify the station.   When I am done, it asks me if I want to save them.  I indicated yes by hitting the select button, and I get what looks to be a bunch of code, and it doesn't save the presets.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the bootloader and Rockbox and get the identical problem.   I work in IT, but I am not a technical expert.  Can anyone help?

Llorean:
Is the "looks to be a bunch of code" screen perhaps the virtual keyboard, as described in the manual?

pcgolfer:
Yes, it looks like the virtual keyboard and I'm not smart enough to mess with it.  Since it is the standard release, I think this is a bug.  I don't think an average user would be prompted with a coding option.    I think most people would hit yes/select and then simply have the device accept it and save them in memory.   I am seeing a lot of other posts on this.

The good news, is that I can scan each time and use the radio.   Alternatively, I can boot in the stock sansa firmware and listen to the stereo.  Not a show stopper, but I just wanted to verify others are seeing the same thing.   Thanks

AlexP:
It isn't code.  The virtual keyboard and how to use it is described in the manual.  How else are people to name their presets?  This isn't a bug.  It even suggests a name for you - if you just want to save, just press the accept key (as described in the manual)

pcgolfer:
My bad, I'm new and it is working.   I did read through the manual but didn't catch.   Thanks
