Sansa c240 01.01.07P to MSC/UMS mode how?

How do I get my Sansa c240, version 01.01.07P, using Windows XP, here in Washington state, USA, into MSC/UMS mode?

I have spent hours reading here and trying things to get Rockbox 3.0 installed.  I've tried "off, on, lock, hold back/rewind, connect USB to PC".  It doesn't connect at all until I release back/rewind, and then as "My Computer\Sansa c240", not a drive letter.  I've read about "rolling back the firmware" but do not understand when this is necessary or how to do it.  In 01.01.07P firmware there is no USB Mode setting.  I have all the right Rockbox downloads and can't get started because I can't get the unit into the required mode.  Dead end, frustration, register just to post this question, hope for help.

Thank you, and sorry for my mistake above.  I am up and running Rockbox now.  I am confused and embarrassed as to how I missed "USB" in the past -- I thought I completely scanned all menu choices, enough to be sure it wasn't there.  Before reading your post I finally resorted to re-formatting the device, so maybe that made it appear.  Or maybe I just missed it...  Regardless, thanks and I'm enjoying Rockbox now.
