basically, whenever i try and run idoom it says base wad not found. but i have put all the wads in there! i really dont know what im missing but i think that somebody on here could help me very quickly. i'm sorry for being such a noob, but i have read all documentation, and i thought i did it correctly!.. also rockbox is way better than the original ipod software, but when i update my songs through floola or itunes, my rockbox database doesnt get updated... is this normal?

With respect to Doom, there are instructions for exactly what you need to do in Section 11.1.7 of the Rockbox Manual.  Please read through that section and then let us know if you have any specific question.

With respect to the database, you will need to update it after changing the files on your player.  Again, the manual explains how to do this.

Please post one question per topic.  Check section 4.2.3 of the manual for the answer to your database question.  If you still have questions please open a topic in the appropriate forum.

yeah sure, well dont worry about answering my questions, i assumed that all documentation was included in the rockbox download, which it wasnt because i read all of that ... well thanks.. got it working now

EDIT: actually it isnt working properly... the game runs, but no matter what button i press, nothing happens. i have to do a select+menu reset to exit the game!!

You need to use the InGame menu to start and exit the game.  Otherwise you'll probably just see it start running a demo.

From the manual:

Quote
InGame Main Menu.
This menu can only be accessed from within a running game, and is displayed by flipping your Hold switch a couple of times

Did you try the hold switch, or just attempt to press random buttons and expect them to do things? Please, read the manual now, and when you ask another question say "I did (something the manual says to do) and it didn't work" so that we know you're actually checking it now.
