Sansa E270 freeze after plugging into USB
(1/1)
abgash:
I usually turn my Sansa e270 off before plugging into the USB port. It then powers on automatically and loads the original firmware, which lets me recharge and move files onto it easily. I forgot to turn it off just now, plugged it in, whereupon Rockbox displays the image of a USB plug, and stops responding to any button presses. Specifically, I can't even turn it off anymore, and since the E270 doesn't have a removable battery, I'd have to unscrew the back to take it out (and I don't have a screwdriver for screws that tiny). Plugging in/unplugging the USB cable doesn't help, either. Since it isn't playing any music, it'll probably take days for the battery to wear out enough for it to shut off so I can restart it. Any ideas?
gevaerts:
Hold the power button for a while (30 seconds or so). It will turn off.

Finally managed to unscrew it with a thumbtack, but thanks for the tip, it'll come in handy next time :)
