Ipod bootloader

(1/1)

Hey guys.

Is there any way of reflashing the iPod bootloader, or at least copying it from one iPod to another of the same generation?

My bootloader is corrupt, and I was just wondering if this is possible.

bluebrother:
No. How do you know the bootloader is corrupt?

rangi_chip:
I keeps booting into diagnostic mode...
I can force it into disk mode and restore with iTunes, but I end up in the same place again, it boots to diagnostic mode.

bluebrother:
This could also be a corrupt firmware partition that has broken sectors so restoring it doesn't work. Though I have no idea how the Ipod behaves if that happens. Maybe trying to swap the hard disk with a known-working one helps tracking this down.

Is there no output in diagnostic mode that is actually indicating the problem?
